Literally just five minutes from the Brandywine River Hotel you can find three of the areas best antique "malls" or collectives. Right next to the Gables Restaurant on the right side of Rt. one as you head south toward Longwood Gardens is Brandywine View Antiques, three floors of porcelain, glassware, collectibles, jewelry & silver, furniture and accessories.On the left side of Baltimore Pike next to Chaddsford Winery is the Pennsbury-Chadds Ford Antique Mall. They have been around for over 36 years and have over 100 dealers and 180 booths and display cases filled with an ever changing inventory. Drive less than a mile further toward Longwood and on the left is the Brandywine River Antiques Market in a large white barn. Here you will find over 40 dealers and a collection of 18th & 19th century period furniture, country & primitive furniture, quality estate furniture, sterling silver, American coin silver, maps, botanical and Wyeth prints and much more. If you love old books, maps and prints, the Baldwin Book Barn is a must. Take a beautiful drive north on Creek Road to 865 Lenape Road, near West Chester and browse through four floors containing 300,000 used and rare books, manuscripts and maps as well as fine paintings, prints, estate antiques, and other valued collectibles.
