 Brandywine Battlefield Park
Step back into history at the Brandywine Battlefield Park, literally a mile north of the Brandywine River Hotel on Rt. 1 in Chadds Ford, PA. The park commemorates the Battle of the Brandywine that took place from Chadds Ford to Dilworthtown on September 11, 1777 culminating with fierce fighting at the Friends Meeting in Dilworthtown where young General Lafayette was wounded.You can tour the Battlefield Park and the headquarters for Generals Washington and Lafayette and you can also take a driving tour of the battlefield and retrace the steps of General Washington's and British General Howe's troops. Combine this with a visit to Longwood Gardens and the Brandywine River Museum for a really special Taste of Chadds Ford Special Package weekend stay at the Brandywine River Hotel in historic Chadds Ford, PA. If you visit in late November you can see the reenactment event on Patriot's Day.
